ARE WE LOOSING SIGNIFICANCE?
Meaning signifies a certain sense. A sense that lies in actions, things and appearances. The collection "SIGNIFIKANT" deals with the discovery that nothing means anything and sets out to find something true with the hope of meaning. In context with the book "Nothing" by Janne Teller, the question arose how meaning and the resulting personality and individuality can exist in an absurd virtual world. At what point in time is something meaningful and meaningless? Also in Zeit magazine you can read that all decisions we make every day basically mean nothing at all. Every view on the phone's screen means nothing. Janne Teller describes it in her book as a superfluous circus that her protagonist no longer wants to join and writes from his perspective that it is more and more about what something looks like than what it really is. In this book, the protagonists collect a mountain of meaning, showing that there is still meaning, albeit in a very absurd way.

Everyone has something that means something to them. But is it also possible to transfer this to fashion? What happens if all "meanings" are taken from a garment?

when is a clothing piece empty?
empty, flat surfaces and forms

Does the clothing mean something to us after the process of iconographic emptying, as art history would say? It then creates empty, flat surfaces. Meaning can only arise if everything was empty and meaningless before. Meaning can only happen again on this meaningful level. So there must always be a counterpoint to meaningful. Significance can also mean purpose or importance here. My collection concept is about distortion of meaning and confusion, and about the extent to which you can reload or unload a garment of meaning.

The absurd distortion of meaning and confusion in this concept refers above all to the form process. In a subtle haptic manner and the capture of meaning in the form of framing, as well as the process of emptying, the absurdity of the search for meaning is presented.
